Week 4 Medicine + Technology + Art
Virgil Wong with his artistic and technological expertise was able to help co-create the Medical Avatar. The medical avatar is a state of the art visualization tool for patients to reduce costs and improve outcomes. The medical avatar helps visualize medical images of patients. One of the big problems with modern medicine is that unless people are doing regular checkups a lot of sicknesses can go under the radar. With the medical avatar people can regularly be up to date with their health which can help prevent certain sickness from advancing. This can completely change the way people go about their health. Virgil Wong may not have gone to medical school but I would argue that his work is just as important as modern medicine is. With art playing a big factor in medical technology the potential is endless.

Really enjoyed reading your post! I also specifically enjoyed Virgil Wong's work and found it to be very interesting. The medical avatar is something that is so groundbreaking because it the impact it has had and will continue to have it massive. That is why your point about Wong's work being just as impactful for medicine even though he did not attend medical school is very accurate.
