Week 3 Robotics and Art

Over time the development of industrialization has grown significantly and has changed the world around us. The progression of mechanics has caused industrialization to change the way countries have been able to develop. For example the invention of the steam engine completely changed the way America was run. It helped power the industrial revolution as it created a new power source for factories and mills to run more efficiently. This new source of energy revolutionized the economy and future of America. The only real downside to the growth of industrialization is the lack of humans that will be required in the future. As factories become advanced they will require less and less man made work.

Walter Benjamin in "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" talks about how art from the past has evolved and is much different now. With the evolution of industrialization the technique and the craft of how art is created has changed. When talking about the physical aspect of art , back then art was completely handmade and arguably more authentic. Now with all the machinery  that exists today the creation of art has become much more progressive and robotic. An example can be seen in one of the videos that demonstrate Dirk , a homeless robot wandering through big groups of people. People nowadays are creating more and more robotic art that will forever change the art world.
